Saint-Germain-en-Laye

Um ótimo passeio, 25 minutos via RER do centro de Paris, é Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a cidade onde nasceu Luís XIV e Claude Debussy, fundada em 1020 pelo rei Robert O piedoso. 
Nela, pode-se visitar  o Chatêau  de Saint-Germain-en-Laye(1348), antiga residência de reis da França, que agora abriga o Museu Nacional de Arqueologia; a Chapelle Saint-Louis, adjunta ao castelo, com sua construção gótica  que serviu de modelo para a Sainte Chapelle, mandada construir por Luis IX no Palais de La Cité em Paris; além de se passear pelo centro da cidade, com suas pitorescas casas com janelas azuis .
A dica é do Zé e da Luciana, que foram passar o dia na cidade.


If you want to visit some place near Paris, go to Saint-German-en Laye, birth city of King Louis XIV and Claude Debussy, just 25 minutes by RER (train).
It is worth visiting the Château de Saint-Germain-en Laye (Castle) , former residence of the Kings of France but in the 14th century, where many peace treaties and royal edicts took place. Nowadays, it houses the National Archeological Museum which has exhibits ranging from Palaeolithic to celtic times.
The Saint-Louis chapel, adjoined to the château is also worth visiting. It is a masterpiece of classic gothic architecture. Charlestown/ Massachusetts

Boston é uma cidade para ser descoberta a pé. Poucos lugares - como a Kennedy Library e o Edward Kennedy Institute ( a ser inaugurado em 30 de março) - exigem que se ande de condução. É só ter disposição e, mesmo com frio estonteante de congelar o rio, passear pelos seus recantos, como Charlestown, inicialmente uma cidade puritana fundada em 1628, onde ocorreu a famosa batalha de Bunker Hill na Independência Americana, incorporada a Boston  e ao Condado de Suffolk am 1874.

  

Seguindo o final da Freedom Trail  a nordeste, encontramos  a Warren Tavern aberta desde 1780, ponto de encontro do General Warren (daí o nome) e de Paul Revere, cantado em verso por Longfellow, por sua importância na guerra da Independência.

Boston is the right place for those who enjoy walking.  With exception of the Kennedy Library and Edward Kennedy Institute that require going by bus or cab, almost every point of interest can be visited walking, even in a freezing day.

Charlestown is one of these places. Once a Puritan city, back in 1628, it has many historical interests marked by the northern end of Boston Freedom Trail that ends at the Bunker Hill Monument. It is the place where Paul Revere began his famous "midnight ride" before the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

After strolling by its streets with  an Irish touch houses, it is possible to have a good lunch at Warren Tavern (open since 1780) allegedly often visited by Paul Revere .
