Lima/ Perú

Quando se pensa em ir ao Perú, obviamente  Machu Picchu vem à mente. Mas se engana quem não se dá a chance de conhecer Lima , capital e maior cidade do país. 

Fundada em 1535  como Ciudad de Los Reyes (por causa das festas dos Reis Magos)  por Francisco Pizarro, já em 1551 abrigava, e ainda abriga, a mais antiga Universidade das Américas sempre em funcionamento - Universidad Nacional de San Marcos. Uma cidade multicultural numa costa desértica  à beira do  Oceano Pacífico, Lima tem muito a oferecer: sua gastronomia internacional, seus parques, seus shoppings - para quem gosta de compra - sua variedade arquitetônica , e sua incrível história pré-colombiana, com monumentos anteriores aos Incas.

Cidade limpa, funcional e segura, é um ótimo cartão postal para turistas.

When we think about Peru, Machu Picchu immediately comes to our minds. But don't be foolish, there is a lot to see and visit in Lima , the Peruvian multiethnic capital with a wide diversity of expressions in fields such as art, cuisine, literature ( Home to the Literature  Nobel Prize Mario Vargas Llosa) music and history - with pre-Colombian sites to be visited!.

In Lima there is the oldest continuously functioning University in the Americas - National University of San Marcos founded on May 12, 1551  fourteen years after  the city was founded by the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro.

Lima is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lúrin Rivers, in the central coastal part of the country , in a valley on a prevalent desert overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

A clean and safe city, with historical and modern buildings mixing in the same areas,  it is a wonderful option for the traveller!
